About the Basswood:

Bass Wood
If you like to see buck rubs then this is the tree for you. Known as by many Whitetail experts as one of the best trees you can plant for buck rubs and scrape activity. Bark is soft and seems to hold the scents for a long time. From my horticulture background, the leaves in the early spring make great salads and if you peel back the bark to the cambium layer you will discover that this layer if edible as well. If it's tasty to us humans then you know the deer love it. Plant these for rub lines and also close to bedding areas as bucks will use them as marker/sign posts!
